
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut at the club and helped the team win its league championship. Morgan, then 22 years older, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. At the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and record 20 assists within the same calendar year . making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was also included in the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
